One of the biggest challenges our customers encounter when adopting a new system is getting staff on board. Without user adoption, the technology investment you’ve made is useless.

I attended Salesforce World Tour this year in Washington DC, and was able to snag a spot in one of the standing-room only sessions for nonprofits. It was great to hear some nonprofit cloud evangelists review their decision to adopt Salesforce and provide some tips for overcoming their organization’s resistance to change. When budgeting for success, staff training is often one of the first expenses to be cut from the list, but that could cause more problems than it solves. Hands-on training is the best way to ensure that your staff is invested in your organization, excited about your mission, and productive at their jobs.

Onboarding New Staff

Being the “new kid” is pretty terrible, even as an adult at a new job. Simple things make getting up to speed difficult, including not knowing where files are stored, being unfamiliar with new tools, and not knowing whom to ask for help. But there are some easy things you can do to help get new employees off on the right foot.
